The Sims 4 is Now on Steam

In other news, The Sims 4 was released on Steam just in time for the Summer Sales. With the sales, it is half price and very affordable for the base game and the DLC. When buying The Sims, I recommend buying an expansion pack, game pack, and stuff pack, as long as you can afford it, to improve your Sims experience and gameplay. Below are my recommendations for each type of pack.

Expansion Packs

From the expansion packs, I would either buy Seasons or City Living. Seasons comes with all the different weather changes, new skills, new careers, and holidays like Winterfest (Christmas) and Egg Day (Easter). In City Living, you are given a whole new world called San Myshuno, and you can choose to live in either a cramped, little apartment, or have the penthouse to yourself. There are basketball courts, flea markets, new cultures, and heaps more clothes in the Create-a-Sim (CAS) aspect.

Game Pack

A game pack will give you more content that your sims can interact with, such as becoming a vampire or even a mermaid. However, My recommendation for this section is a little different. The Sims 4 Parenthood Pack adds the parenting skill and skills for children like responsibility or emotional control. Children now bring home school projects and work on them with their parents, creating extra bonding time. The CAS items fit the theme, and the buy mode items are beautiful and well worth the money.

Stuff Packs

Lastly, Laundry Day and Movie Hangout are the two stuff packs that I put first on my list. Laundry Day is exactly what it sounds like, but the items are beautifully made, integrate well with the Parenthood Pack, and it was content voted for by the Sims community.

The Movie Hangout Stuff Pack was one of the earlier stuff packs to come out. However, it adds a more quirky style to the game. Plus, who doesn’t want to watch movies and eat popcorn outside on a giant screen or even inside on their little penguin T.V? The CAS and buy mode items are very boho-chic, but they have every last detail put into them.

There’s been no official word on the release of the fifth title in the life simulation game franchise. It is expected to release sometime in 2019. 

Is Sims 4 Multiplayer?

The internet is filled with a multiplayer game. With the recent increasing genre of online gaming, most game developers are mostly focusing to increase their online game performance. They add a little bit of story gameplay, but the main focus of sale is online multiplayer. The gaming community of the sims 4 are demanding a multiplayer mode for quite some time.

The sims 4 is a single-player campaign based game. It doesn’t offer a lot of story gameplay, but there are tons of great features that engage a gamer to play this again and again.

One such feature is the online Custom content sharing platform. When you first launch the game, there’s a build mode option available at the launch screen. This allows other content to upload and download their favorite in-game content. This is the only online feature you will get with the game.

EA and Maxis don’t have the plan to launch this feature in their upcoming DLCs. Most probably, they will introduce this feature in the Sims 5. You can still use this feature by installing the sims 4 multiplayer mod.

Также, появились новые города, и вы можете заселить свою семью в любой из них. По происшествию некоторого времени, разработчики выпустили 8 дополнений и около 10-ти каталогов. Больше всего геймеров порадовал выпуск каталогов Сад и Дома.

Новый этап 

В 2009 году стал периодом выпуска третьей части. Главной изюминкой новых Симсов, которая полностью изменила игровой процесс, стало наличие открытого мира. Теперь можно следить за тем, как они едут на работу или в магазин. Вы можете наносить визиты своим соседям, стоит только позвонить и предупредить их о своих намерениях. Действует новая система открытых навыков, которая позволяет вашим симам становится более развитыми и добавлять в свою голову знания о новых сферах жизни. После выхода некоторых тематических дополнений, появилась возможность делать в домах героев подвалы. Также, в The Sims 3 появилась система, которая отправляет ваших симов в гости к друзьям, которые тоже играют в этй игру. В общей сложности для этой игры вышло уже 11 дополнений.

С того момента, как было объявлено о выходе новой, четвертой части The Sims, поклонники игры ждали её выхода с огромным нетерпением. Казалось бы, куда еще улучшать этот симулятор, ведь в нем итак можно делать все, что делают люди в реальном мире. Но разработчики все равно нашли чем нас порадовать. Как и предыдущие части, этой игре не требуется связь с Интернетом. Что действительно поражает в этой игре, так это новая, более реалистичная и законченная система эмоций, обновленный редактор создания героев и обновленный режим строительства. Теперь вы можете менять высоту всех зданий и фундаментов. Поведение и работоспособность персонажей симулятора полностью связаны с тем, в каком расположении духа они находятся. То есть, все практически так же, как и у реальных людей. Если сима обидели, то он начинает злиться и в этот момент не может делать ничего, кроме как проявлять агрессию по отношению к своему обидчику. Если сим опозорился в общественном месте, он не сможет некоторое время идти на контакт с людьми и будет пытаться убежать оттуда. Даже походка у сима меняется, когда с его настроением что-то не так.

Если рассматривать четвертую часть на предмет недостатков, то их тут хватает. Вы уже не можете здесь свободно передвигаться по городу, что было типичным для предыдущих частей. Также, в игре больше нет возможности купить бассейн, машину и многое другое. Если устанавливать специальные дополнения, то некоторые из возможностей, что были доступны в предыдущих частях, возвращаются и в четвертую часть. Ну а так вы сможете только управлять жизнью своих персонажей, которые живут практически также, как и мы, в своем виртуальном мире.

Set-Up

After this is done, you can either host a game on your machine or join a game hosted on another machine. Hosts are given a code that their friend can use to join them in their save game. The launcher itself is straight forward, clean, and easy to use, giving it a huge advantage over previous mods.

The main things to be aware of are the limitations of SimSync. It can currently only support two players and they must have the same packs installed. To make this easier, the menu offers options to temporarily turn off specific packs before you host by clicking on their icons. However, doing this will give you some Origin messages about needing to download purchased content and can affect your saves if they were made utilizing disabled packs. It’s also worth noting that new saves cannot be created once connected. The host will need to create a save before they begin then invite their friend to join it.

There is some mod support available but, understandably, not all mods are currently compatible. Some common mods are listed within the launcher to help with this and the creators are promising more mod support will be coming.

Playing The Game

Functionality is basic right now and the second player is essentially an extra pair of hands to help in larger households. The primary player is the host and they solely control buy mode and the save itself. Build mode is glitchy and broken and the mod creators do not recommend trying to access it while connected. Create-A-Sim does work, but entering it will pause the other player’s game. Games can be saved by the host using the save as function.

The secondary player can simply take control of a second sim in the primary household. Players cannot play two separate households in the same save. Traveling is possible, but again, players will travel together, so they need to remember to select both sims when using the travel function.

While the base game is pretty basic, gamers can quickly improve their Sim world with three different types of Downloadable Content (DLC).

1. Expansion Packs: This includes clothing and accessories to personalize your charterers, game mechanics for improved play, and entirely new worlds to build and explore.
2. Game Packs: There isn’t as much content as the expansion packs, but you find more accessories and content based on the theme of your game.
3. Patches: These patches are regular updates that include tons of free content and updates to the game.

You can try and create a world similar to your own or let your imagination go wild and make the world of your dreams. Whatever you decide, you’ll have the content and tools to customize your world.

Excellent features and updates

When The Sims 4 was initially released, it received a lot of criticism from its fans. To its credit, EA went to work on improving the game, and now it has gotten to the point where the game is widely recognized as the best Sims game yet. Here are some of the top features and recent updates.

Free Alternatives to The Sims 4

If you prefer to play a free game and not a free trial, I have several recommendations for you.

• Minecraft: A sandbox game that allows you to create all kinds of structures, buildings, cities, and more using 3D block graphics. Minecraft is a completely free game with millions of active players. It has two game modes: Survival and Creative. In survival mode, you’ll have to avoid the night monsters as they come for your characters. The creative mode allows you to design everything from small buildings to entire cities.
• Fortnite: You can dance, build towers, and use creative weapons as you try and survive the Battle Royale. Fortnite is one of the most popular multiplayer online games in the world.  You can play with friends in teams of 4 or just join a random game and play against players around the world. The goal is simple: be the last one standing on the island.
• Roblox: An immensely popular gaming platform with millions of unique games, Roblox has captured the creativity of millions of gamers worldwide. You can design your own game using the Roblox Creative Studio or play games that were designed by other creators.

Передача сохранений

Данный мод предполагает наличие одинакового сохранения у двух игроков, так что вам нужно будет передать файл со своим сохранением другу. Таким образом, у него будет ровно такая же семья и прогресс в игре как у вас. Перед началом рекомендуем сделать копию всех сохранений.

1. Зайдите в игру и на начальном экране нажмите «Загрузить игру»;

2. Выберите сохранение, в котором будете играть с другом;

3. Наведите на иконку папки, чтобы узнать название файла сохранения (в моём случае это Slot_00000007.save);

4. Закройте игру, перейдите в Документы\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves и найдите необходимый файл сохранения;

5. Передайте этот файл другу (например, прикрепив документом в сообщении ВК), чтобы он поместил его в эту же папку на своём компьютере;

Minor Bugs

When playing the game, the host may have their sim do an interaction that pauses the game, where a pop-up window appears, showing you what you can choose — for example, giving a gift. However, there is a small bug when the pop-up window won’t show up for the player who initiated the interaction and instead shows up on the other player’s screen. You will have to communicate that you are doing these actions until it gets fixed.

The most significant bug so far is the sim’s inventory. When player 2 wants to sell something in their inventory, the selling box is greyed out. The only person that can interact with a personal inventory is the host. If other players have items in there, their Sims can’t interact or use them like normal by clicking on them and selecting an action. The items are basically decorations in a box to them.

So if personal inventories are a big deal to you, I don’t recommend you play this mod with friends. Otherwise, it looks like one fun experience after another. What happens if the host players’ Sim dies? Does the game continue? Who knows until you play with life. Also, watch the video below to see two people trying out the mod for themselves.

Multiplayer Mod

Для сетевой игры, прежде всего, нужно выполнить несколько важных моментов:

• Игра должна быть обновлена до версии 1.68.154.1020 либо выше. С более ранними версиями мод может работать некорректно
• У игроков обязательно должны быть одинаковые комплекты модов и дополнений.
• Желательно также иметь одинаковые версии Sims 4
• Все участники сетевой игры должны иметь одно сохранение сделанное в режиме остановки времени
• Так как режимы покупки и строительства находятся в режиме тестирования, то  желательно начинать игру с уже всем необходимым (построенный и обставленный дом и т.д.)

После выполнения всех необходимых условий нужно запустить Лаунчер. В нем нужно последовательно совершить несколько действий.

Для игрока, который будет являться сервером:

• Выбрать игру с уже созданным сохранением
• После этого запустить Симс 4 и загрузить игру с выдранного для сетевой игры сохранения
• Игрок должен увидеть уведомление о подключении к серверу.

Для игрока, который подключается к серверу:

• Ввести IP игрока-сервера
• Запустить Симс 4 и загрузить игру того же сохранения что и у «сервера»
• Игрок должен увидеть сообщение о подключении к серверу

Способ 2

• Игрокам нужно скачать и установить программу Hamachi, после запуска зарегистрироваться
• После этого один человек создает новую сеть, а второй подключается к нему
• Из интернета скачать ts4multiplayer_alpha2 и разархивировать в папку Electronic Arts\The sims 4\Mods\
• Дальше требуется зайти в папку Electronic Arts\The sims 4\Mods\ts4multiplayer-alpha2\Scripts\ts4mplconfigs и при помощи блокнота открыть файл server_config.py. В нем в строке HOST указать IP человека, который будет создавать сервер (IP можно посмотреть в программе Hamachi), а в строке PORT  поставить 9999. Перед закрытием нужно сохранить изменения
• Так же как и в предыдущем варианте сетевой игры у игроков должно быть одно сохранение, версия обновления игры и одинаковые моды
• Игрок-сервер заходит в игру первым, загружает сохранение и не снимает его с паузы. После этого нужно нажать Ctrl+Shift+C и ввести mp.connect. Потом это делает второй игрок. Если все действия выполнены правильно, можно играть.
•  код add_client_sims – исправляет ошибку игры с исчезнувшим интерфейсом, применять его требуется при смене участка.

How To Align Your Server To The Other Computer

Both PCs must follow the steps given below –

• Go to the mods folder and remove every other variant of this mod.
• Make sure that both PCs are using the same set of files or data.
• Copy the S4MP_release.ts4script file to the mods folder in your system.

One of these two PCs must act as a server with the second PC.

Next, the server PC should adhere to the following instructions –

• Initiate the server.exe file.
• Note the IP address of the server for future use
• Start the sims game after this file is installed and saved on your device.
• After opening the game console, Press CTRL+SHIFT+C and now type the code “‘mp.c true—
• A notification will pop up on your screen, verifying the successful connection with the server.
• You can close the console now and wait for the other PC to complete all the steps successfully.

The other PC must follow the steps given below-

• Load your saved file and start the sims 4 game.
• Make sure the ‘Time’ option is paused in the game.
• Open the console by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C
• Type in the code “‘mp.c true—
• Wait for the notification verifying a successful connection with the server PC.
