Heroes[]

End Rogue

Main article: MCD:End Rogue

The End Rogue is an unused hero in Minecraft Dungeons that was believed to have been obtainable within the Echoing Void DLC. Much like the Nether Warrior, it was rendered unused, probably due to both being made quite early, and then scrapped for the new, more updated heroes.

Nether Warrior

Main article: MCD:Nether Warrior

The Nether Warrior is an unused hero in Minecraft Dungeons that was believed to have been obtainable within the Flames of the Nether DLC. Much like the End Rogue, It was rendered unused, probably due to both being made quite early, and then scrapped for the new, more updated heroes.

Enchantments[]

Barrier

Main article: MCD:Barrier

Barrier is an unused enchantment that was planned for the Jungle Awakens DLC, but was later added in the Echoing Void DLC as a built in enchantment for the Sturdy shulker armour.

Bow’s Boon

Main article: MCD:Bow’s Boon

Bow’s Boon is an unused enchantment in Minecraft Dungeons meant to be for ranged weapons. Any ranged weapon enchanted with Bow’s Boon grants the player and their allies a damage boost for every arrow that passes through them, due to it being unused, the tiers are unknown.

Knockback

Main article: MCD:Knockback

Knockback is an enchantment that would behave like regular knockback would. Every once in a while, enemies get knocked back after a melee attack. It was one of the rarest enchantments in the game before it became unobtainable.

Appearance[]

The Island where Hidden Depths takes place

The Hidden Depths take place underwater, around a small group of islands. Underneath the largest island is a ridge filled with a coral reefs and a shipwreck, on the west and deeper below is an ocean monument that harbors an ancient guardian, and on the east is an underwater volcano surrounded by lava, glowing lanterns, and a large fossil. The missions in the Hidden Depths are huge when compared to other missions, with about fifteen secrets in the Coral Rise alone. There is a cutscene in the abyssal monument in which the ancient guardian breaks through its own lair, and starts the boss fight. It is one of the only boss fights with a cutscene, apart from the Vengeful Heart of Ender, however this cutscene is not a separate movie (like this two), rather than is directly within the mission.

Item rarity[]

There are currently four types of rarity levels for items, namely common, rare, gilded and unique.

Common and Rare

Common items include all non-unique tools and items. Rare items include the same items, and generally have similar attributes. Though they have a smaller chance of being collected, they do not have a significant advantage over their common variants, aside from having a higher power cap (by 1).

Gilded

Gilded items are dropped from ancient mobs upon death. They have a golden background in the inventory, and all gilded items have one random built in enchantment.

Unique

Unique items are tools and items in Minecraft Dungeons that possess special attributes and have a low chance of being acquired compared to common and rare items. They can sometimes feature natural Enchantments as well as other powerful features.

Redstone Core[]

Redstone Core

Behavior

Neutral

A Redstone Core is a device that can be found in the Fiery Forge. They first appear in a mineshaft-like area where the hero must activate all of them in order to proceed further. They also appear in the boss arena near the end of the mission.

Behavior

When the hero activates a core, it will open up and start making a loud noise while charging up, it will then fire a large heat blast in four directions that will deal severe damage and some knockback damage too if a hero, mob, or pet is struck by it. By overloading the cores, the hero damages the fiery forge. They can also be used to harm the monstrosity, since they appear in the arena. Sometimes a glitch occurs making the heat blasts from the cores freeze in mid-air.

Finding a dungeon[]

Dungeons generate at any altitude provided they are next to a cave, even if «Generate Structures» is turned off. When mining or exploring underground, if you stumble along naturally generated cobblestone, that’s a good sign you might have found a dungeon, but water and lava mixing also generates cobblestone, so be careful when investigating. Mossy cobblestone generates a lot in the floor, and there are only five naturally occuring sources of mossy cobblestone: dungeons, jungle temples, pillager outposts, ocean ruins and mossy cobblestone boulders. So if you’re not in a jungle biome or aboveground, you’ve found a dungeon.

Dungeons also generate next to caves. Turning sound on can be significantly helpful and subtitles‌[JE only] still help. If you hear a lot of mobs of the same type in one direction, chances are there’s a spawner in a dungeon. The spawner has a chance to be a zombie (50% chance), skeleton (25% chance), or spider (25% chance) spawner. Unlike most generated structures, dungeons cannot be located with .

Arcade Exclusive[]

Ender Armor

Main article: MCD:Ender Armor

The Ender Armor, also known as Curious Armor, is an unused unique variant of the Guard’s Armor that had the unique ability to have a 5% chance to teleport players when they took damage. It is unknown whether the teleportation ability is what made it unused, but the teleport function cannot be obtained even if the player manages to get curious armor using hacks. This armor, referred to as Ender Armor, set can be obtained through a card in Minecraft Dungeons Arcade however.

Mage

Main article: MCD:Mage

The Mage is an unimplemented spellcaster illager that was planned for Minecraft Dungeons, but it was scrapped. It has been in the files since the game’s release (1.1.1.0), but was removed for no apparent reason in the 1.2.0.0 patch. This mob appears in Minecraft Dungeons Arcade however.

Obsidian Monstrosity

Main article: MCD:Obsidian Monstrosity

The Obsidian Monstrosity is an unimplemented boss mob that has a statue found in the Obsidian Pinnacle. It is an obsidian variant of the redstone monstrosity. It can be found under construction in one of the variants of the part of the level that generates the second main redstone golem fight. The Obsidian Monstrosity is its name in the game files, as it is not referenced in the base game. In Minecraft Dungeons Arcade however, it is now a living entity and an exclusive boss there.

Behavior[]

An evoker’s basic attack spell animation

An evoker’s strong attack spell animation

Evoker can casting two spell in one round.

An evoker has two attacks. While not attacking, it attempts to stay a certain distance from the heroes by running.

Basic attack

An evoker raises its hands, enveloped in a purple aura, summoning three vexes in a circle around it.

Strong attack

An evoker raises its hands, enveloped in a yellow aura, then lowers them, summoning a stream of fangs out of the ground to hurt approaching heroes by snapping shut. The evoker fangs are non-attackable mobs that appear either as a line of seven fangs from the evoker towards the target, or as a circle of twelve fangs around the evoker. This is its most powerful attack.

Combo attack

Evoker can summon vexes and fangs both in couple seconds. Similar to the evoker from original Minecraft Java Edition.

Lore[]

The Vengeful Heart of Ender sent a group of six enchanted endersent to the Overworld to guard six Eyes of Ender. They spawn in various locations across the mainland as powerful mobs. Heroes must defeat them to obtain the Eyes of Ender necessary to access the End dimension.

Unlike any other mob before it, these endersent can only spawn once during a playthrough. If journeying to an area previously guarded by one of them after collecting the Eyes of Ender, instead of an enchanted endersent residing there, just a regular endersent with no Eyes of Ender on its chest spawns.

On each path leading to an enchanted endersent, there can be one or two Endermen powerful mobs that spawn in small ambushes. Raid Captains also spawn commonly near the arenas if the mission was already completed before.

Defeating the dungeon[]

Once you’ve located your dungeon, turn on subtitles or sound to determine what type of dungeon it is and how to prepare.

  • If it’s a zombie dungeon, take care to note what difficulty you are on. If you are on hard difficulty, additional zombies can spawn as you’re dealing with the zombies in the spawner, attacking you from behind. Smite will be the most effective sword enchantment here, as well as a shield and good armor.
  • If it’s a spider dungeon, know that spiders can climb walls and are 1 block tall but can’t fit in a one wide gap. Spiders are affected by Bane of Arthropods.
  • Skeleton dungeons might be the best type of dungeon, but is also the most dangerous type to defeat. Projectile Protection armor will be helpful, and a shield is absolutely essential. Note that skeletons are the same size as zombies but can still shoot through gaps. Like zombies, they are affected by Smite.

If you’ve found a zombie or spider dungeon, immediately block up the entrance with building blocks, and make a 1×1 hole in the dungeon’s wall. If you can reach the spawner from the hole, place a torch or another light source on or near the spawner as soon as possible, so that less mobs will be spawning in. Use your sword to fight the zombies and spiders as they come. New groups of 1-4 zombies or spiders will spawn every 10-40 seconds, so when you’ve defeated all the current mobs in there, quickly break in and scatter torches everywhere to deter mob spawning. Don’t look in the chests unless you’re absolutely sure no mobs will spawn, as being ambushed while looking at a chest is difficult for you. Remember that all dungeons generate an entrance, so you could be attacked by creepers or skeletons from outside.

The spawner in the center of the room is the key prize. You can destroy it if you like (it gives a modest amount of experience when broken with a pickaxe) but that is strongly discouraged unless you never, ever, ever want to farm the spawner. Once you’re done, look in the chests. The loot normally contains a lot of things, but the best prizes are golden apples, horse armor, name tags, enchanted books, and saddles.

If you’ve discovered a skeleton spawner, follow the advice above except always have your shield at the ready. Skeletons will fire at you from afar, so have a bunch of arrows and know how to shoot as soon as the bow is fully charged. If you have enchantments on the bow, relatively high levels of Power can kill a skeleton in one shot.

Aftermath[]

Spawners can make very useful experience and mob drop farms.

  • Zombie farms can offer tons of rotten flesh, but might also give the occasional carrot, potato or iron ingot. Random armor, iron swords or shovels

If converted to a drowned farm, it gives rotten flesh and copper ingots.

might drop if the mob spawned with it.

  • Skeleton farms offer bones (for bone meal or bone blocks) and arrows, as well as the occasional armor or bows, which are sometimes enchanted.
  • Spider farms drop spider eyes and string.

All of these mobs will also drop experience upon death.

Advice on how to make farms of these mobs can be found on the Spawner Traps page.

Locations[]

Locations can be travelled to from the map once heroes have reached or returned to the Camp. They do not appear on the map until they are unlocked. Due to the nature of how the missions are unlocked, it is entirely possible to skip missions to complete the main story. There are a maximum of 45 (not including Camp or Squid Coast) playable locations at any given time if all Secret Missions and Daily Trials are unlocked and all DLCs purchased. Each location contains over 500 mobs (except for Squid Coast, which has less than 100 mobs)

There are three main things that can be found in a location:Consumables, Emeralds, and equipment such as Armor, Artifacts, and Weapons.
